About this tool
Percentages appear in almost every area of daily life — sale discounts, pay rises, tax rates, interest calculations, exam results, and statistics all rely on them. This calculator handles the three most common percentage questions without any need to remember formulas. The first mode finds a percentage of a number (useful for discounts, tips, and commission). The second works out what percentage one number is of another (useful for test scores and proportions). The third calculates a percentage increase or decrease between two values (useful for price changes, salary comparisons, and year-on-year figures). All results update instantly as you type.
